Hey everybody!

Do you think fireflies are pretty? 你覺得螢火蟲漂亮嗎？ I do! I love fireflies … I like to watch them at night!

Taiwan has lots of very pretty fireflies. They are so beautiful! Fireflies shine … like stars! 螢火蟲一閃一閃的 …好像天上的星星

Sometimes, I go to Maoli to see fireflies … or Kaohisung or Pingtung … I go all over Taiwan to see fireflies! 我全台灣都跑就是為了看螢火蟲

But we have a problem! There are not so many fireflies now!
現在的問題是，螢火蟲沒那麼多了...the fireflies are going away! Oh my!

It's very sad! I want to see LOTS of fireflies every year … not just one or two …

So...why are fireflies saying 'bye bye'? 為甚麼螢火要離開我們呢

Maybe … because it's too bright! There are too many lights at night.
晚上有太多的燈了

People like light. We use lots of light at night.

We have lights in our house, lights on our car, lights on the street, lights
in the park … everywhere has light at night!

But fireflies DON'T like light! 螢火蟲喜歡暗暗的，They need a dark, dark
night ... then they can shine like stars! 這樣他們才能像星星一樣閃閃發亮

Hmmm… Maybe people can turn off some lights. 也許我們應該關掉一些燈
Maybe we don't need so many lights at night. 晚上根本用不到這麼多燈， 對吧

Then ... maybe more fireflies will come back!

I hope so. I hope we can turn off more lights at night … so my firefly friends can shine like stars!

If it's too bright … we can't see the stars … and we can't see the fireflies!
太亮就看不到星星，看不到螢火蟲了

1) Shine發光。The sun is shining; let's go out and have fun有白花花的太陽,我們出去玩兒吧!

3) Light燈或是燈光。It's too dark here; we need some light這裡太暗了，需要一點燈光.

4) Go away走開。The fireflies have gone away from the city螢火蟲已經離開了城市.
                                  "Can I come in?" "No, go away!" 我可以進來嗎? 不可以，走開!

5) Turn off關掉。Could you please turn off the TV你可以把電視關掉嗎?
                                 She turns off all the lights before going to bed她上床前把燈都關掉。
